Welcome to the SHRM GA State Council website. Mirroring the purpose of the SHRM GA State Council our website is provided as a resource for HR management events occurring around our great State, as well as a conduit to our State Chapters, and SHRM.

The State Council, an affiliate of SHRM, was established in 1992 and is managed by an incredible group of volunteer leaders who work extremely hard to strengthen and expand our influence and support on people management issues critical to business, government, academia and non-profits across the State. The full Council, comprised of 54 members, includes HR practitioners, educators, consultants, legal professionals, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and business persons representing a broad range of organizations throughout the State.

Over the years, our accomplishments have included cutting edge educational and conference events, Congressional meetings and fly-ins, expanded partnerships and alliances, engaged support for academic and Work Ready programs, and expanded leadership development opportunities.

The mission of our Council is to offer opportunities to build strong HR leaders and to educate our members, members-at-large, and business leaders on the essentials required for progressive HR practices that support changing business needs. These are the practices and policies that aid organizations in attracting and retaining talented workers and promote economic development in our State.

I hope you’ll bookmark our site and visit it often as we continue to update information and resources. I also hope you’ll be motivated to seek out a Chapter event in your area, or join me at a State Council event.
